Dr. G S Prakasha

About me:

Dr. Prakasha G S is an Associate Professor at School of Education, Christ University, Bangalore, India. He has 20 years of teaching and research experience in Education. He is the PhD programme coordinator of the department. He is the Consultant for school of education at Christ consulting group. He is also the Coordinator for Human resource development Centre, Deanery of Social Sciences.  He is the member of Board of studies, Think-tank, Curriculum cell, and Faculty coordinator for UN academic Impact.

He was the Project Director of Radio-Namaste – a faculty and student exchange project on Indo-Swiss education in collaboration with Switzerland’s Teacher education University (hep, Vaud) and Christ University, Bangalore, India from 2017 to 2019.

He completed his Master’s in Education from RIE, Mysore. PhD from Bangalore University, on Teacher effectiveness in relation to interest, job satisfaction, and professional ethics. He has cleared National eligibility test (NET) for lectureship and awarded junior research fellowship (JRF) in the year 2009. In 2017, he obtained International Baccalaureate Teaching certificate in DP and MYP from DePaul University, Chicago, USA.

Dr. Prakasha is an active Editorial board member, reviewer, and article editor for Sage Open (Scopus) peer reviewed journal since 2016. He is a member of All India Association for Educational Research (AIAER). His areas of interest lie in quantitative research methodology, Teaching-learning, Assessment and Evaluation, Educational Technology, Teacher education, and University/Higher education. He has published in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Sciences, and Science Direct. He has presented papers in national and international conferences at Bangkok, Switzerland, and Russia.

As a coordinator for Centre for advanced research and training (CART), he has conducted many national level research data analysis workshop at Christ University. Dr. Prakasha also trained PhD scholars, students, and faculty members on quantitative data analysis using SPSS at multiple institutes across the country like Indian council of social science research (ICSSR) Delhi, Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jharkhand, Thiagarajar College of Perceptors, Tamil Nadu.  He is an invited resource speaker for number of faculty development programmes at Christ University and other reputed institutes like Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, Air force schools, National College, Shimoga. He regularly conducts workshops on quantitative data analysis using SPSS.

Dr. Prakasha was involved in research activities, which have national and international emphasis. He carried out a Major Research PROJECT on Competencies of Next generation Teacher Educators and Teachers, funded by Christ University. He led a Rural Education PROJECT in association with a NGO called GRAMA to set up Informal Education Centre to upgrade rural education in India. He is writing a chapter in the edited book titled Handbook of Research on Active Learning and Student Engagement in association with Professor from University of North Dakota, USA. Dr. Prakasha is also bringing out a book titled Teaching internship models around the world under Tylor & Francis publishing house.  Dr. Prakasha is also a research supervisor for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, MPhil, Doctoral, and Post-doctoral students. He has rich experience in organizing workshops, seminars in national and international level, which initiates dialogues in the Education discipline. Especially in teacher preparation, being internship coordinator he has network with 100 plus schools of different boards across Asia pacific region. Dr. Prakasha lives in Electronics city, Bangalore, with his nuclear family. Apart from academics, he listens to music.
